Rape Victims...

A virgin has never had sex, and technically rape victims have been violated and have had sex forced upon them.

Once you have been penetrated by a guy, you are no longer a virgin. Sick and sad.

they'd be considered a secondary virgin. if you didnt willfully give away your virginity or if u did at a very young age and you've decided you shouldnt have its called secondary virginity.

hey well i've never been raped but i've had these repeating dreams about being raped...if u read my 2 latest poems they talk about it...i havent sleep for more than 8 hours in the last 3 days b/c im afraid i'll have another bad dream...if ne one has ne suggestions..plz plz plz!! let me kno!!

Okay. so no, scientifically your not a Virgin. But mentally and seriously i still thought i was. I mean to me sex was a thing savored for my love. and it was. But shit happens ya know?

I was raped when I was 15... When I am asked about my first time I always say It was with my boyfriend when I was 16, and thats the way ill see it forever...

i believe that after i was raped, i still told everyone that i was a virgin, because u can lose your virginity only through sex right, well rape isnt sex, it one screwed up fuck head trying to screw up someone elses life, it is forced, the vicitm doesnt want it, than it isnt sex...it takes two to tango right? so i believed i was still a virgin

Unfortunately aside from all your perspectives medically your not a virgin once you have been penetrated, yes it sad but there is no argument about it...

What Eirisa said is medically true. but the key word here is medical. Anyone who has the spiritual strength to forgive, which is divine, deserves a higher title than virgin. to forgive does not mean to condone or show approval. It is a very sick spirit, or mind that would take innocence from someone. The victim of such a horrible act does not lose innocence, that is,.. victims although scared are as innocent as they were. Anyone who would place significance on being a medical virgin is shallow as I am sure Eirisa would agree. GOD BLESS YOU ALL

I think that's wonderful that you were able to forgive the guy that raped you and yes it shouldn't matter if you are no longer a virgin with something as that.
I just pitied the guy that raped me, for in the long run he screwed himself over with the drugs that he did, but you know..that's life, you can learn from your mistakes or dig yourself under is what I think.

It depends on how you look at it.
Some people classify virginity as a phsycial absence of sexual intercourse that when performed are no longer considered "virgins"

That's speaking technically.

However, other people tend to look at virginity in a different light. They see it as an action that a person chooses to take only when they have reached a point in their lives when they have decided to cross over to the next level of their mental and physical state.

I personally think that a person is still classified as a virgin if they are raped. not physically, but as far as mentality and maturity, yes I think so.

In my experience from KNOWING rape victims (I've never been raped) their sexual response is messed up for life. Many adults have told me they have forever hated sex because of it and were promiscious when they were younger. For that reason I think that it's hard to overcome such a terrible ordeal mentally, so what was said earlier about being mentally a virgin I think is false, because the tendency is to associate sex forever with that experience.

I dont think that experience brings clarity of mind, it takes time to clear away the mental baggage enough to see the situation clearly sometimes.

I just think it's as simple as to say that your virginity is stolen on all levels, I dont think that there is a way that you can revert all that damage. I think it's a nice concept to think that you can, but it's not realistic. The most messed up people I have known tended to be rape victims, it's such a terrible ordeal.

And Kitty, I understand what you mean, and although insensitive of JPM, just try not to take it to heart.
