Could anyone give me some advice on writing songs, please :) xxx

Hmm.
Are you going to post those songs on this site? Just wondering. Anyway, I think you should write a very original song so people will actually want to read it. So many songs are about loving someone so much, so think of something very original..and interesting. Just some tips.

Anyway, just write. The only difference between a song, and poetry, is that poetry is, by itself, poetry. Songs are poetry, with music.
