ok i just looked up on it and found out this:

People with Dissociative Disorders may experience any of the following: depression, mood swings, suicidal tendencies, sleep disorders (insomnia, night terrors, and sleep walking), panic attacks and phobias (flashbacks, reactions to stimuli or "triggers"), alcohol and drug abuse, compulsions and rituals, psychotic-like symptoms (including auditory and visual hallucinations), and eating disorders. In addition, individuals with Dissociative Disorders can experience headaches, amnesias, time loss, trances, and "out of body experiences." Some people with Dissociative Disorders have a tendency toward self-persecution, self-sabotage, and even violence (both self-inflicted and outwardly directed).

Im pretty sure i have depression, i have mood swings a lot, i have had slight insomnia, i have night terrors, i have hallucinations in my night terrors, i have many phobias, have a lot of headaches, totally black out sometimes and dont feel as though im inside my self sometimes. oh and I also drink WAY too much when I have it and dont stop until I cant physically drink no mroe. I dont know if this would be classed as alcohol abuse. And obviously self-sabotage Is this anything to worry about? I know your not doctors but...yeah. Would appreciate the help greatly!

I think a lot of people who believe they have it actually in reality probably have a form of depression, I think to assume you have a condition because of something someone else has said or because you have one or two of the conditions is a slight overreaction. Perhaps before thinking you have it, get diagnosed, even if you do have it, it is treatable. I am going to get my mental health diagnosis soon until then I am not going to make any assumptions. Also, it is generally people with incredibly traumatic experiences such as constant sexual abuse that come up with these disorders, I am sure many people on this site have had incredibly traumatic experiences having read a lot of poems and posts on here. Just do not go around saying you have this disorder if you do not have a diagnosis. I hope everyone here can find a happier life and anyone with diagnosisis can find a way to get better...

    thanks xx

Lost girl, if you are talking about the paper tests which are like questionairres they are very unreliable, you need a physchiatrist or someone who has no association with you personally and who has mental health knowledge to diagnose the disorder properly. I think perhaps your mum is overeacting because she is worried about you...

Dissociative disorder....a disorder that keeps someone from being social or being part of society.

thts not right, may be wot the it means literally, but not wot the disorders entail.

The point in it was tht i was wantin to hear other ppls experiences of it cos i jus feel v isolated with it right now.
