For the most part, I don't agree with your last statement considering that if you had profanity involved in your piece is should have been categorized correctly in the first place.

I do think though, that if a poem is categorized in the section that allows it to use profanity that the comments written to it should also be allowed to use it considering quotations and feedback on using that language.
They could abbreviate, but I think if it should be used one way, it can be used that way in comments as well.

Interesting, I haven't heard about issues with other languages yet.
Does sound like a problem worth fixing, but a hell of a lot of work as well. So I don't know what will happen with it. Perhaps a 'foreign language' category?

First of all; thanks Mike for pointing me in the direction of this thread. Secondly I will reiterate the point which I made in my original post 'Spell Checking Poems'

'If poems are supposed to be entered in English, then how can the correct English spelling of words be deemed as wrong/errors? Some examples would be:'

    American- English = color/Standard English = colour
    American-English = splendor/Standard English = splendour

(By correct English I am referring to the Queen's English/Oxford Standard English).

I again ask the question is it possible to change the spell checkers settings so that the site is able to accept both American and Standard English spellings of words?
