Ok.... In my opinion religion was a form of opression... Used to make people meek and serve others... I no longer bother trying to argue out evolution (even though it has been PROVED to have happened) as christians do not change their mind and neither do I, I believe a man called jesus DID exist but he was probably just a nice guy, the stories got twisted and changed so much and exagerrated then written into the bible it is incredibly hard to decipher the truth from the lies, I believe however we must have come from somewhere, something must have happed to make us exist, there are probably people in galaxies billions of miles away thinking the same thing though.... Thanks |

I dont like that religion restricts the possibilities of infinity... if that makes sense to anyone but me. |

Religion is needed as a social sedative. Religions change with the superstructure, like fashion trends. Whatever religion most suits those in power, that is the one that will prevail in our society. |

I don't appreciate how it limits the mind to one area for fear of too much understanding of the future. |

I think people are always searching for something higher than them that they can trust in, because otherwise people feel insecure. They want to know what they're here for a purpose and that they aren't mistakes. |

I respect that you believe that it is wrong...and I am kinda talking about the extreme ones...You seem to be among the smarter religious people, and I like people who are able to see things in a bigger perspective... |

I once heard a sincere priest say that some of the most dangerous people in the world are religious fanatics. He also acknowledged it sounded strange coming from someone in his vocation. We can debate the pros and cons of religion for centuries and it might not change our view. I do not hate any religion any more that I hate mother nature. Most of us have suffered at the mercy of people religious and not religious. Some of us find comfort in mother nature. Others can see the super natural power of love. Who among us would curse the sun because it leads to the storm? Curse the day because it leads to the night? Curse the physician that failed to heal someone in spite of his best effort. Then who can honestly say that they have not felt betrayed by the law givers. But I have also felt betrayed by the lawless. Is it more painful to be rejected by someone you tried to sincerely love, or less painful to accept that we cannot be accepted by everyone? If I really tried to love anyone the way that the Christ loved, I would be called stupid and hated for it. It is sad that the Jesus of Nazareth is not seen as Jesus of the churches. And many do not see faith hope and charity as virtues Reflected by the churches. I don’t believe anyone can find peace in doubt, despair, and hate. An ideal path would be one that every one followed in unity. But that is not to say in reality that ‘that truth’ is in sight. |
