Am I too young to write?

I don't think you can be too young to write. If it comes from you're heart it doesn't matter what people think. It's about expression. Just because you're more mature than you look doesn't mean you are too young to write poetry.

I started writing when I was fourteen but I belive that as long as someone has something to say and can actually write words, then I belive that no one is too young to write.

no way...if you like writing poetry then go for it, no one can stop you, if anyone thinks you have to be a certain age to write poetry, then thats just silly. Write poetry and have fun!!

I started my first writing when i was 12/13 for a school assignment and i LOVED it! I love writing and I think I'm improving- so if you have a love for it- go for it, don't let anyone tell you yu shouldn't write!

I don't think that age matters, when you write. You should keep writing, and if you start at this age, by the time you're 18 you will be so much better than you are now. So keep writing!!!

My brother is 9 and writes them, and he is in special ed, I don't think it matters how old or what condition your in, write poems if you like to, and if people don't like it too bad, your writing them because you like it, not because other people need you to,

Yes, I think its good to get a head start on writing.
I started scribbling stories when I was nine, so I might just have a bestseller by the time I'm...15?
I don't think that age has very much to do with talent. You just have to keep on going. And kids do face a lot of life, in school, in growing up, in parents and teachers and friends, it doesn't have anything to do with being "over-age."

I started to keep a diary at the age of six. But it was not an ordinary diary in which I recorded my daily life, because I'd be writing the same God damn thing: 'Hi diary, I'm bored". Instead, I wrote of things I missed to do, things like telling my mum I love her, taking the time out to speak to God etc. Those were the things I noticed from a young age which were really vital in my life. Gradually, my thoughts began to rhyme as I put them on to paper. Before I knew it, I was writing poetry. You see, the birth of a poet does not necessarily have to be from the age of, let’s say 37; but the moment it comes to you, don't let it run away. Write as much you can, kiddo, and all the best to you.

age donest matter , writing is about feelings , ive been writing since i was like 8 , and it helps me get through things , and writing is an amazing thing , and you shouldnt have to be certin age to write , if you like it do it , dont listen to other people , and as cheesy as it sounds listen to your heart ,lol

You are never to young to write. To me, that's like saying I'm too young to live or express myself.

I agree with everyone here...if you love, love, writing poems and love to express yourself out of a poem...it really helps sometimes to take what you are feeling and put it out into words. I think thats just awesome! Instead of writing a long, long, letter to someone. Cause sometimes a poem can say everything. So i don't think you could be too young to write poems. Its just who you are. So what if other people say that you are too young to write. One day they will realize or understand what you mean. So yeah keep writing poems that comes out of your own thoughts. =)

I don't think so. =) i'm only 15, yet my poem 'conscription' has made many cry. i believe if u have a power with words, u are entitled to write. =)

I am 13 and have been writing poetrey since i was 7 though when i was 7 it wasnt as good as i am now. See in otherwards you got to become good at it though some people have natural ability.

it's nt about age, i started writing when i was 11, poetry is not only what u've seen of life, poetry is about what u "see' in life what ur seeing in life, how do u see life how do u see love or a specific situation, poems is ur feelings, feel free to say them the way u want

i started writing when i was young about 10-11 but i got better in time i guess if you like something you know from an early age :P:P
