Okay then, I'll answer the first one only since i'm a girl. Well, tell him first of all that it's great that you two have been best friends for so long. Tell him that lately though you've started to feel different about him...and that now you actually like him more than just a friend. Ask him how he feels about you. if he says that he feels you're just his best friend but no more than that, then tell him to forget what you said and that let's just continue the same way. That way, atleast you dared tell him. Afterall, if he's your best friend you should be able to tell him anything.

I agree, you should just confront him and tell him how you feel. Just be str8 up and honest with him. Girls should be able to usually tell when a guy flirts so it shouldn't be that hard. But, like what was said, if he is your best friend you should be able to talk to him about anything.
