How many of your poems come from real life experiences? becuz, most of mine come from an experience that happend to me or someone close to me, or an experience that I can relate to, and I write about how I feel about it, and while I'm expressing the feeling, I kind of tell about the experience. Some of mine i take the feeling and put a twist on the experience. Some(very few) of my poems, I take an experience that I feel that I could kind of tell how i would feel if that happend to me(or something similar that happend to me, and build off that) and just write the poem based on something that really hasn't exactly happend, but I have only done this a couple of times. Most come from a feeling of something that has happend to me. Most of my poems are my heart and tears in ink. What I want to know is, does everyone write from real life feelings and experiences, please reply

A lot of the times I write, I do write about how I feel. A lot of poems I write are about this guy I love. Sometimes I write depression poems that aren't about how I feel, but are just what I write. So basically I either write how I feel or I just write what my fingers type. I don't really twist things up or anything.

I like to write mostly how I feel....I like to write about this guy I like too, he's like one of my best friends, and this girl took him from me. Most of my poems are about him, I'm pretty new at writing so a lot of my poems aren't that good, but I think I'm getting better at it

Nada-Yeah, My stuff gets better, I'm learning to really dig in to how I feel, and put it in words. It's not very easy through, my feelings on some things are so powerful, it's hard to say exactly how I feel, words are sometimes not powerful enough to express certain feelings. But finding the right words gets easier, I read some of your poems before, you are really good.

I write about how I feel, experiences that I have had and, occasionally, other people's experiences that I ccan relate to. When I first came on poems and quotes, I was a terrible writer. In fact, for the first few weeks, I was too scared to show my work, I just looked at other people's work. (I stil suck, but at least I'm not as shy now, and I'd like to think I've improved a little bit.)

Most of mine are written from real life experience or things i have observed about people or myself. Some turn out better than others, but it also depends in what moment I wrote them.

personally, it's easier for me to write and elaborate on an idea when it's personal experience. you get more details and i dont know.. it's just easier to write.

I usually write from my own feelings at the time, i dislike poetry without meaning or real purpose to it - I.e. writing about suicide when the person isn't actually sucidial, but then again for the sake of outlet - that can be a good thing.

I'm never proud of my work, ever.

Lorna Lou, i like the way you see it actually; and does explain to me alot about why people can express feeling about events which have not taken place in there life...

I guess all poetry is a reflection of your thoughts, and in the same case a reflection of your experiences in life, because without experience we'd be nearly empty shells.

I think that poetry comes from your heart....even if it's not an experience that you have endured....i think it has to be something that you can feel...whether you've actually been throught it or not. If you didn't feel the feeling that you were writing about...then i don't think that the poem could be very deep. You can change the experience around all you want...but u have 2 be able to feel or at least imagine to feel what your talking about.

All of my quotes and poems are from real experiences. Like for example "Lost Angel" was a poem that I wrote when I lost a dear friend of mine in a arguement. Sounds kinda childish I know, but there is more to it believe me. And my quotes are from the same experience. I write poems to help me and plus I get to be creative, which I love to do.

It used to be that all of my poems were based on real life experiences. However, recently I have started writing about anything that comes into my haid, and although they usualy fit into the 'depressing' or 'dark' categories on here, they are not necessarily first hand experiences. Needless to say, I do still write a few poems about myself, but they are not always distinguishable from poems about other people. x

Mine are from experience or like the one from my daughter to her daddy. i wrote that from her cause i know thats how she would feel if she could let you know. bad thing is, is that most of mine are love related, good and bad and with the same person.

Mostly all are my from my depression stage and like 3-4 I think are about a guy and how the girl lost him or the opposite. All my poems practically says how I feel about life and lost relationships. So it's all about feelings. I've only written one poem here that talks about my real life.

I usually write poems on how I feel, I haven't written any on real life experiences yet, but I'm going to. My poems are usually on fantasy, how I feel, and my experiences. So the answer to that question is none YET...but i'm certainly gonna get to it!
