Sweet 16

Something I was given once was a piece of jewelry with an engraved message on it. Something she will always remember you by when she reads the engraved message. I was given that for christmas one year and I still have it. It was from my grandma and grandpa. Grandpa has now passed and it's something I will always cherish. Just a thought. I am sure she would much rather have the boyfriend or the car.

Brooke's idea was good. I would give her money though, 'cause then she can buy whatever she wants with it and there won't be the question "what if she doesn't like it." Or, if you actually want it to be a gift that you have bought, then jewelry is the best idea.

It depends on how much you're willing to spend. A trip to a place that she really wants to go to would be fun. I do not what "ordinary" for you is, so I don't know how to help. Is an Ipod too ordinary? About the whole engraved thing, you can get Ipods with messages engraved on them.:P

i remember my sweet 16th b-day...it sucked...i spent it alone!!! NEWAYZ...sorry just reminiscing...

the iPod idea is a really good one that is what i have asked for for my 18th bday...does her car have a cd player in it...maybe you could do that or an electric car starter, gas card, or maybe offer to pay one of the insurance payments...if you dont already...lol

i have no idea what your spending limit is your gift limitations are but i do hope that you find an idea that helps you...Happy birthday to your daughter and i know (from a teenage girl's point of view) that she will LOVE whatever it is that her dad gets her....

Of course, if you don;t want something so material, something that she will remember and relive, spree on a trip, even if is just for a weekend. I know that an international airline is having exceptional fares from New York and Washington to Paris and London....but and Ipod is easier.

A promise ring. A promise that she'll always be Daddy's Little Girl. My dad's a dip shit. But it would have been so sweet to receive a ring with Daddy's Little Girl engraved in it. So sweet!

My parents flew me to Paris on my 16th birthday. It was the most amazing Birthday present ever.

It would be cool to get her a trip somewhere, or even a daughter ring. (A ring with her birth stone, yours and her mothers.)

    Good Luck.

I'm sure you'll find the right gift and I do like Brooke's idea, a girl loves jewelry especially with a beautiful engraving on it. And don't forget to write her that beautiful poem that she will always cherish and treasure. I hope she has a wonderful 16th Birthday.

But jewellery isnt unusual, neither is it original. Everyone gets jewellery. How about something extremely sentimental and personalised? Focus on her hobby, and work something round it. Eg. If she is a dancer, get her a choreographing(sp?) class, or if she's an artist set up an art exhibition, or an actress get her a drama workshop session or something. Or you can buy her a star. And that will be her star. You get a certificate and stuff. Very sentimental and loving. Then write that poem about how she is your star or something?
