Abuse?

Someone I knows dad gets really angry at her, he hits her and punches her and pushes her around, he always says sorry to her, but she keeps feeling really scared and not wanting to go home, he always says hes sorry and he loves her and is really nice, and it doesnt happen every day.. is it abuse?

Well, it sounds like the father loves her a lot but he doesn't know how to keep his temper under control. He needs help with that, 'cause otherwise he might someday hurt her really bad...and then he'll regret it.
