    Normally what I do is make sure there are the same measures in each line , so when I reread it , it doesn't seem as if somethings off.
    Like the same number of words or syllables in each line.
    That may help, but my usual technique is to use end rhyme. One end may rhyme then next won't but the one afterwars will...I'm not sure if there's a word for it.

    I use alot of enjambment (sp) where you break up a sentence into two lines, or possibly even three to keep the flow going.

    Trying to limit the words so there's a similar amount on each line helps a poem at times, though it's dependant on what you are trying to do....
