Patriotic poem about a boy and an older man

I read a poem sometime back. It's about a man and his son going to some sort of park. They were going to watch fireworks, I think. Anyway, they sit under a tree by an old man. The boy starts asking the older man questions. I think one of the questions was why the man put his hat over his heart....
When they stand for the Pledge of Allegiance the man watches as his son puts his hat over his heart!
It's a very touching poem. The poet that posted it has a couple of other patriotic poems that I adore! I'd love to know who it's by....Thanx~Holly
