Medication

i was prescribed medication for bipolar disorder, but i refuse to take it because i am against the fact that a pill would control my mood and energy level. I hate medication and therapists and all that stuff. my dad sees what i mean, and he feels the same way about it as me, but my mom is very upset about it and is trying to force me to take my meds and talk to a psychiatrist...

even though i am strongly opposed to it, would it be worth it to go against my beliefs and just take the pills??

i agree with u katie im going through the same thing but u have to like make a disition one or the other bc if u start taking the meds nad then jstu take urself of it like i did that causes really bad problems and put u in the hospital and stuff trust me i no.... so just watch out make ur disition now if u wanna take them or not if u already on them ask ur doctor to wean u of them other wise if u jsut take urself of it bad things will happen.... so hope all ends up ok....

i no medication sux but if its the only thing that helps and its ur last resort then u jstu have tot go with it...thats wut i had to do

that's exactly what i hate about the pills so bad. they start to control you and your mood so that if you stop taking them suddenly, you are even worse and it gets to the point where you can't just stop taking them without getting all messed up.

Also, as upsetting as this will sound, you will probably be on your mood-stabalizing pills all ur life, or most of it. Bipolar is with you forever, it's not like depression. What r u taking?
