Hey, yeah that's pretty much full and includes everything. I think one more thing to put as a footnote would be that if you are attacked and thigns fail, encourage people to talk and tell someone, so the person that attacked you has the chance to be caught.

What about what to do if they have a knife to your throat, do you fight or not.

Okay, sorry, but dumb idea. Unless you can do it fast and you're sure it would work then I wouldn't suggest doing that. I've found it's better to just not fight when they have a knife.

I'm just saying, be careful. I tried it, it didn't work. It may work for some people, I don't know.

I tried to fight, using the element of surprise and all, and instead of taking the knife from my throat, he used it. I finally realized I was safer when I didn't fight.

I guess it all depends on if you think that person will use it, and how much attention they are paying to what you're doing. If they're watching your every move it's kind of hard to take them by surprise. I'm not sure if anything I'm saying is making sense, I've been up all night. If not, just ignore it.

Now there's an idea I hadn't thought of. I'll have to try that, thanks.

Nada I think plan B is really good, because if someone has attacked you then they would probably look at your every move. Good job, this thread is great!

The best thing to do if a weapon is pushed up against you is not to try to get away from it at first. I took a self-defense class, and we were told what to do. It was your plan B. Lol.

You need to push yourself up against your attacker. If they are trying to take you away in a vehical, and are behind you with the knife or the gun or whatever, then walk with them with your hands out in front of you where they can see them. If you seem as if you are going to go along with them, and stay calm and tell them that you will go willing, they will loosen up....once you feel that, then you attack. Reach your hand, palm out (if a knife is to your throat), and push the hand out, If your hand gets behind the knife, keep pushing. Better your hand then your neck. Once you feel the knife leave your neck, start running. Don't try to pick up anything you dropped, and don't look back at them. Just run as fast as you can.

If it's a gun you are dealing with, you can not just start running because they may just shot at you. If a gun is being held to your head, then their other arm is going to be around your neck. Put your chin, right into where their elbow bends, and pull their hand away with the arm closest to the arm around your neck....once you can free yourself, you can scrap their shin with your foot, or hit them in the groin. OR you can start right off the bat with hitting them right in the bridge of their nose with the back of your hand. It will distract them long enough for you to start running. If you are scared that they will try to shot at you, then don't run straight....run at a diaganol, or switch directions every now and then.

If you want any other self defense tips....let me know. I'll be happy to help. I'm studying to be a police officer, and so I know a lot about self-defense. I will try to help the best I can....

Although I do not think that this was put in the right forum, I like the topic and would love to keep it going. Great job.
