Spell Checking Poems

I have had no real problems with the spell check on this site whilst submitting my poems, until lately.

From the problems which have occured I am guessing this site uses American-English. All of my poems are typed into Microsoft Word before entering them onto this site and so are all spell checked using Oxford Standard English. However my last few poems have been refused by this site as they have too many spelling errors. Therefore I had to enter them as slang poems, later changing the category. This is becoming very frustrating as I know that my poems are spelt correctly.

If poems are supposed to be entered in English, then how can the correct English spelling of words be deemed as wrong/errors? Some examples would be:

    American- English = color/Standard English = colour
    American-English = splendor/Standard English = splendour

Is it possible to change the spell checkers settings so that the site is able to accept both American and Standard English spellings of words?

It is not words containing apostrophes that I am having trouble with. It is mainly words where American-English spells them without an 'o' and Standard English spells them with an 'o'. Such as the examples that I gave in my first post on this thread.

As you suggested I tried typing a short poem in notepad and then copying it to this site, but the spell check still came up with the same errors.

Has anyone else had this sort of problem with the spell check?

Any other suggestions as I don't really want to have to type my poems in American-English, or enter them as slang and later change the category.

    Thanks,
