Why are you SO against Nada. If you read her posts PROPERLY you would notice she's trying to help people. Listen to what she says - her words are quite wise and very helpful. As I have found out :) (Thanks for all the help you've given me about stuff by the way Nada!)

You can't help any one that has a problem.
Just because you've experienced a lot in life doesn't mean you can solve any problem and have advice on it.
Well, everyone can have advice on a situation, but you can't make someone all better.
I've experienced a hell of a lot, and I've delt with people who have been through a lot of pain. But I would never say "i promise to help"
You're not a qualified professional, your help only has a certain limit, and you're not qualified to promise to help.

And scared, don't talk about Nada like that. Nada is smart and is right. And whenever she gets on tonight she'll say almost exactly what I said only better because I'm stupid and not as good as her.

Oh yea, and actually I'm not sure you can help anyone. Not everyone's problems are exactly the same as yours. I assure you, you won't be able to help.

I think posts with titles like 'I can help... i promise' and other similiar threads are pointless. Like people have mentioned before, people have many different problems. Just because someones' been through a lot themselves that doesn't mean that they can help. To promise that they can help is even worse, why potentially build up another persons hope like that?

I understand that these people are only trying to help, but please think before you make these types of promises. Chances are you will never meet those people that you are trying to help. Yes you can give your opinion and advice on a situation, if they ask for it. However they may need professional help and your advice may make things worse.

I'm not trying to get at anyone here, just saying things as I see it. If someone posts a 'please help me' thread by all means give your advice. I just don't see the need for false leading threads such as this one and others that are similiar.

I completely agree with you Nici. That's exactly how I was thinking, I'm just..*tries to rephrase this* not educated enough to give such a wise response =). Especially the part about building up hopes. That's why I would never promise to help. Maybe I would promise to try and help that person, to try...but I know I could never help someone completely unless I was a professional.

ismail: Lol, it was funny. I made a whole new thread about it. Also, firstly, it's wrong of her to mock anyone's beliefs, and secondly, definitely wrong to mock yours. Everyone's entitled to their opinions and beliefs. It makes me mad thinking someone would do that, and even more mad knowing people do it a lot.
