Best kind of Poem you can write

I find that the best poems I write, personally, are the ones that I am really feeling and just kind of flow out, out of nowhere. It's something that I can be proud because I captured the moment how I wanted it. It doesn't matter if it's love, sadness, funny,etc.. It depends on the moment and the feeling; the passion with which you write.

at the moment my best are love poems I think, a few years back my best were on depression.. my best come out when I just write what I am feeling.. When I don't have to think about what is coming next.

Depressing Poetry is easiest to write, because its the emotion that sticks out the most. but i would have to say mix your emotions with your expiernces and see what you come up with...
Plus i think that metaphorical poems are some of the deepest out there and it gives everyone a chance to put a little spin on your words so they dont always come up with the same thing in what you are talking about, they will connect better to it.

my best would have to be love poems...I have always wrote love poems from the heart, all my poems come from what I am feeling at that time. And I usually always have my poems rhyming ;)

Mostly sad poems and friendship poems cause I write about my friendships not for other people but for me to remember. Though i love it when people vote and comment. So i love to write all different kinds of poems not just 1 kind.

I don't really know what my best category is, because I haven't gotten enough feedback. I like my poems with weird layouts the best though...and their subjects vary.

I have a lot of trouble coming up with new ideas to write about. Usually, I ask someone for a topic or subject, and then I write. Some turn out pretty good, but sometimes I have to rewrite a piece over and over again. I've found, over the years, that I have the best luck with those that just flow through me. When I say that, don't think I'm weird, I mean to say, it's like I will write a line and after I read it i'll say,"Whoa, where did that come from." If you don't uderstand what I mean, that's Okay, sometimes I don't understand myself.

    once apon a fairy tale.
A girl so small and sweet.
With long black hair and devil eyes.
    No one you could meet.

    So much eye liner.
    Not much to see.
Exept the devil lay behond me.

    i walk into the grave.
    Where ghost haunt me again.
    Whips across my back.
    As a sign of slack.

    Devils daughter.
    I am near.
Dont worrie i show no fear....
    devils daughter i am here!!

I wont kill, ill just show.
The scars that your father left.
    For me not to grow.

Devils daughter tell me what ive done wrong.
    My frineds wont talk.
    I sing the same song.

    Devils daughter you know well.
    Your daddy isnt that nice.
He made me cry, once again i die.

I think the best poems are written when you feel that mood. When I was a teen I used to write so many love poems and thats all that I could write. Now that I'm older I can only mostly write sad depressing ones. The rest turn out, kind of mmmm... I just don't like them. =)

yea i have been the same way for a long time because thats all that ever happens to me also but i am in the same boat as you i am trying to write about other things because why give someone so much of you as a poem when they didnt care about you to begin with or they wouldnt have hurt you at all

I think the best kind of poem someone can write is one where they have lots of emotions and opinions about. Most likely if you go through an experience and write about it...your poem will sound better than someone who just wanted to write about the same subject. Because I don't think people understand how much of a difference "REAL" emotions and feelings make in a poem. Any poem that comes from your heart, is the best poem you can write....

I agree with the person above me, "Any poem that comes from your heart, is the best poem you can write...."

I've found my best works are the sad , and melancholy, love found, love lost, dark, light, personal(the more personal you are the more universal you will find it to be) and surreal poems, but it is the image of the tragic, romantic, loner, dreamer that I embraced years ago as my image that I became and write most.I try to write a variety of poems-I've wrote happy poems, inspirirational, humorous, traditional forms. You may find your strength in a particular mood or form, but one should always try new things, different poems, expand your horizons, try new and different things. This helps you grow as a poet.My motto has always been 'My style is that I have no style.'Never limit yourself.

    Peace, Poetry, & Power,
