My therpist told me that if a person has depression and they don't know what their depression is about, that it is harder to cure it. And a person who is depressed and knows why they are depressed, it is easer to cure. is this true?

Well....he is a professional...he knows his research....so, most likely...plus it sounds about right...Easier to identify how to cure someone if you know what's wrong....

Well, its easier to cure if you know why, that way you know your triggers, and maybe can prevent yourself from getting depressed again. Also, you have to want to get better, and if you don't know why you got that way in the first place, how are you supposed to take steps to get out of it?

not always. If you are experiencing depression because of rape, sexual or any other kind of abuse, you obviously know the cause but it's not necessarily curable.
