Is it possible to get cancer at age 13?

you can get cancer at any age. my mom's cousin got leukemia when he was three and died before his fifth birthday

You can get cancer at any age. I lost my twin sister to cancer at age 10. I wrote a poem about it called At Peace it was a very hard poem to write. My family doesn't talk about it so I felt I needed to let it out.

What about breast cancer?

you can get any cancer at any age.

my mom's friend got breast cancer when she was a teen.

but this friend's mom had gotten it when she was an older woman.

breast cancer tends to run in families.

why do you ask?

Ive never heard of anyone aged 13 getting breast cancer but I dunno, it could happen.

I was thought to have skin cancer at 13/14 and was tested for it. Fortunately it came back negative but now I have a really big nasty scar on my leg where he sewed me up badly and cut it out badly.

Oh and did I mention I was awake whilst he cut my leg apart? Well yeah....I was. And watched the whole thing. It felt like paper being cut ... lol.

Ergh....I saw a programme on tv a while back about people who wake up during operations...it was horrible. :S

Lol, I had an injection to make it numb but he wasn't going to put me to sleep. And then whilst he was sewing me up he was too busy talking to my brother about his excema and not really looking at my leg. Thanks Doc!

Why do you think you have cancer?

Its kinda embarrasing to talk about. I just checked though and I have 3 symptoms of breast cancer. I might just be over-reacting but im not so sure :(

So why are you talking to us and not your family. That's serious stuff....talk to your family so you get in to see a doctor.

And that my dear is NOT an embarrassing thing.

I cant talk to my family. We cant talk about anything.

I'm sure if you said "mum ... I think I may have breast cancer" she wouldn't say "I don't want to talk about it"

Seriously, you need to talk to someone. You can't just let it go on.

It is possible to get Breast Cancer in your teens. I should know I was diagnosed this May aged 18 years.

It is however very unlikely to get Breast Cancer this young, around 80% of Breast Cancer diagnosis are made in post-menopasual women.

If you are really that concerned about it I would say to get it checked out. There are many clinics where you can go, without your parents if thats what you want, to get it confimed one way or another.

Big possibility...Anyone can get it...even 3 year olds...It is so heartbreaking. My aunt is dying from lung cancer...My cousin died from Luekimia. I hope you turn out alright.
