getting emancipated from parents

Would you actually be able to get the money to live on your own? buy furniture and food and still stay in school? Good luck with that.

Not All Here, why do you want to get emancipated? I've thought about it, but I figure if I made it 16 years then I can make it 2 more.

I have a cousin whom was emancipated when she was 16...She was always dirt poor and working full time. Nevr had enough money for healthy food and could rarely go out with friends. On top of it all she was still trying to overcome her past; teen pregnancy and abusive parents who didn't want to take her back from the home she was in. She was emancipated not because she wanted to be, but because she had to be. The home couldn't care for her and no relatives wanted her. She wasn't a bad kid, she was just misunderstood. She now lives with her husband and son...Though her husband beats her and she only stays with him for support with the bills, seeing as she can no longer work because of her child. Emancipation is not all that it's cracked up to be and besides do you really want to be so responsible at such a young age? You still have two more years to do what you want and not have to worry about bills and such...relax and live it up!
