it depends greatly. i say for random people on the internet or anyone else who doesnt personally know you either by family or friendship who would still sleep at night if you did that kinda stuff, then i completely agree, its none of their business. but for people like family or friends who really truly care about you, they care if you cut or dont eat because they are worried about you safety and your wellbeing and all kinds of questions run through their heads like 'what if they cut too deep and theyre lost forever' for those people, i think it is their business. but for people who just enjoy judging, labeling, or causing pain for people, they really should just back off cause they only make it worse. |

that's why i choose to be a leader not follower!! =) i hate "wanna be" (anyone who doesn't have a mind of his/her own) that's why i always argue with people (sis, friends, exbf, just about everyone) cuz i want to express my opinions/feelings.. if you like doing something, forget what people think, just do it (nike's slogan) you're you, what do people know about u? they're NOT you, so who cares what they think!! you should follow your heart and do what u think is right.. you shouldn't listen to others (haters) advices.. =) |

Geesh. Yet again another thread about the same topic. This has been discussed to death (and that may be literally). |

people care because they dont want others hurting themselves when it's not necessary. I'd go completely crazy if I found out one of my best friends was cutting because I care for them so much. I know that after I stopped cutting my brother only just found out I was doing it and he tore shreds of me. And it was the best thing he could do for me. It made me see how silly and completely stupid I was being. And that's why people 'stick their noses' into our business. It's for our own good. |

I don't think that's her point... People shuldn't obsess about what other people do, such as what they wear, their body type, who they go out with, etc. I agree. People need to get out of this middle school/high school popularity contest and just live and let go instead of bothering about others' doings... |

No, she was talking about self mutilation. As if people should NOT care about what she is doing to her body. It's not a bad thing that people obsess about what you do especially when you're hurting yourself. You should see that as a GOOD thing. You should LOVE that people care about you. Had we been talking about the clothes people wear and such I would agree but we are on a whole different subject. |

It's all in the same. Anything and everything people do seems to be under a microscope. Some people don't want their problems to surface for others to see, because they are protecting them from the reality. people shouldn't pry, but if they do see something that could be detrimental to another's or their own health, they should talk to someone about it. But the more trivial matters should stay under the carpet... |
