You probably just need to get inspired, because once you're inspired you can't wait to write the poem...before the thoughts escape you. Listen to some of your favorite songs, go take a walk outside, listen to the raindrops, research a certain word and then write about it, there are so many ways you can get inspired!

As for writing about the same topic, I think a lot of people have that same "problem." By getting inspired by different things, you'll be able to write about different things too.

Saddness is one of the strongest emotions ever... so it makes sence you'd write about it. It is one of the things that you have the hardest time expressing to. But because it is so powerful we tend to dwell on it. Poetry does not require anything at all. you just write. there is no gramar, or spelling, of punctuation. nothing, that is what is so beutiful about it. you just have to let yourself go. let every thing inside you be realized, and let the inner you write it. I know it sounds lame, but its true. you do have an inner you. and that person is where all insperation and feelings comes from. thats where the best stuff comes from.
