When will new winners be decided?

When there is a fair system for the winners to be picked...i'll get involved in it.

As it stands...Dainz picks them on his own....so ask him.

Well, he wouldn't pick them on his own if every mod would suggest some.

But even when we all so suggest poems, it's still up to Dainz which one goes through. I mean he's got good taste. But it still ain't as fair as it easily could be.

yeah, I know. But if we all participate, it's better than just letting the top rated always win.

I don't know, my weekly winner only had 4 votes and a couple of comments on it before hand.

Just a thought.

Ah okay i really really think it should just be changed to the monthly poetry contest...because maybe i missed something but i don't know when the last time i saw it changed only a week apart from the last one was...it's crazy!

You know...when i'm on here, i'm in mod mode...and i rarely get a chance to check out other folks poetry.

Maybe some civilian members could be the commitee for choosing the winning poems. Of course they would have to take themselves out of the running to do so.

I'm happy to lend opinion if it's wanted... been reading a lot more poetry of late. Not sure if six months of playing the game is enough experience though.

Janis has set the "rules" for which poems can be chosen. But I'm sure that even besides that, some people would be more apt to pick certain types.

I personally don't usually like dark poems, but I have actually read some and suggested some for the contest.

I'm all for having more people in the process of choosing these winners. We could have people nominate members that they'd like to have on this committee.

Would we want there to be a process of submission? Like a thread in some category and people post the link to the poem(s) they want submitted. The committee could them pick a certain number to be finalists (15-20 or so, depending oon how many submissions there are) The mods and/or Dainz and Janis can "approve" those selections. Then the committe could vote on them and the highest three scores win (the mods and/or Janis and Dainz could possibly vote on them as well)

*Scoring could be on a 5 or 10 point scale. Or use that scoring thing that someone posted in another thread.

ditto! love the idea! i was gonna post something about the now month long... weekly winners!! you guys are right about something needed to be done! i think bob's ideas may be more efficient! just my opinion! if you need ANY help with anything.. i'm a bored poetic who KNOWS the difference in a worthy and non-worthy candidate for winning awards! just thought i'd put my 2-cents in!! again, if you guys need anything, just let me know!
