personally I hope Kate is fine, but there is a lesson to be learnt here.

Post a sincere topic on any discussion board here and someone is going to make fun of it / make light of it / openly mock it.

It's not because they don't know any better, they clearly do. It's an attention seeking thing. Rise above it and the senseless wankers who don't know any better will tire of the lack of attention and go elsewhere for their kicks.
