No, I don't see how that could be wrong. I write about things that I see in everyday life. Sometimes I even put myself in different situations like, homelesness and heartbreak, although I've never been in those situations. Sometimes I can depict how I would feel, and If I didn't do a good job the comments will show that. So I try to improve and look deeper into other people and be more observant. |

yeah, i agree with Broken and Bleeding (sorry if i got that name wrong). there's nothing wrong with it. isn't everyone saying that you can't know a person until you walk in their shoes. so what's wrong with looking at situations through others eyes. it just makes it more imaginative. i mean, people who do actually experience these things dont really have much trouble feeding off their emotions to write a poem but someone who doesn't have those feelings has to feed off something totally different. in my opinion, theirs nothing wrong with it. |

i've had people inspire me...written lots of poems on things i haven't experienced personally, and surprisingly people say i get it right - the ones who actually went through it...i try to put myself in someone else's or a group's shoes...see something through their eyes...and hope it turns out okay. so far it has. |

My brother wrote a poem about cutting that sounded as if he cut on this site, and at first it reaqlly bothered my that he did because I cut. But I think it was a way for him to put himself in my shoes, and try to understand why. So I think it is totally ok. |
