Social Problem: Part I

There is nothing wrong with porn in general. Sex sells and it always will. Sex is the oldest trade known to man after all. It is when people's tastes turn to the extreme, those outside the bounds of law and decency that it is wrong.

Snuff is murder, or simulated murder and is wrong because it is beyond the law.

Paedophilia is wrong because sex with children is beyond the law.

What about films that invove animals and beastiality?

Ah... so is it porn or a lax society that is the problem?

Do we ban porn (a popualr and regular cry) or regulate it in a better way in which it becomes harder (no pun intended) to access?

I'm waiting for the internet argument and I'll get back to you then.

Hmmm....porn. I think it is a difficult thing to decide about. I don't think it has any actual benefit to anybody. It can be ok for people ad they can get horny and stuff oput of it but no actual benefit to them.

On the other hand there are loads of possible problems and drawbacks to using it.

1) it can be addictive
2) it might progress to illegal stuff
3) it makes people into nothing more than objects
4) where people would have just had fantasy they see these things can be lived out and that could cause rapes etc.
5) it encourages immorality, wierd sex things and more.

I think porn is disgusting and all, but I know that its will always be around. I don't really think it a social problem though. Some people are obsessed with it but for the most part I think it is handled pretty well.

Well, it's like this: the film industry has been able to mutilate and blow people to bits on screen for years. They say that this is cathartic; in that we watch, and our emotions are drained and purged by the watching experience. Thus, people will not copy what they see.

Bollocks. The ammount of drive by shootings; let's deal with anger with guns; rapes; gang attacks etc have increased with the level of violence shown on our screens. The same will be true with incidents caused by exposure to porn: indecent assaults and rape. This is because the 'viewer's' response cannot be measured in any way. One will watch and wank; another will watch and want to do at any cost.

drive by shootings, guns, gang attacks, violence in general is often seen on public television. So yes, it may be encouragement, and its there for a lot of people to see.

Porn, is usually only available for those of age, who have the ability to think straight. If they are gonna go off and rape someone because they saw a porno, theres something wrong with THEM, not the porno industry. And if porno is promoting anything, its promoting good lovin between two individuals who have consented.

yes, I reiterated what you just said, but I also corrected your assumption that someone will go and rape another after watching porn.

I didn't say porn is about love. I said it was about good LOVIN'. between two individuals. who have consented. Now if you look at the word again, you can see that it can also mean good SEX, good CAUSUAL SEX, or just a good FUCK. I just chose to use the sugarcoated word.

Porn is available for ANY age. Anyone can get hands on it. And it's swarming through the internet, many of my male friends are underage and can easily find it.

The rapists and molestors, perverts and the kiddy fiddlers are the ones who pack your groceries, they serve and protect, they put out fires and process your credit cards. They are as much a part of society as you and I.

It comes down to regulation and responsability.

If you're an adult who can legally watch porn, knock yourself out. But you are also responsable for it and have an obligation to make sure it doesn't fall into underaged naieve hands.

I don't think porn is to blame for any of societys problems, it is the idividuals that do the things that are to blame. Porn can encourage that behaviour, it makes things acceptable which are not. I have watched porn and enjoyed it, that does not make it right. I do not understand how porn is art, if it is art then its purpose would not be to help masturbation, would it? Masturbation may help reduce the risk of testicular cancer, nut so does not using mobile phones and other such things. Plus it is possible to do that without using porn. And watching porn isnt going to stop rape, someone who is likely to be a rapist is not going to be satisfied by watching someone on a screen.

I said some will wank and others will act re porno. The reasons that many women are seen as mere 'f**k toys' in society is due to the sexual images created by men and this includes porn. The rest of the images are found anywhere you care to look. And unless you care to get on a soapbox and start doing something 'femminist' about the whole situation, well, we're pretty much stuck with it. But there is a price for over exposure.....and it's not the 'wankers' you have to fear this time!

So this totally hot babe is walking down a sunny street wearing almost nothing...and she spots a cookie on the path in front of her....so...she picks it up and eats it...and as she walks on she finds another cookie...and she eats that one as well...after a few minutes of cookie swallowing and following..she ends up in a back garden. They get better pay rates and the focus of attention is completely on them.
