Instead of whining about something, change it. I see that you have no poems.

    Peaces.

From what I have read so far, Chris Walker has the best love poems.

So that extra 1% is Chris Walker? Nice to see that you have been corrected and that you admit to it.

    Peaces.

I think he was talking about the people who post on this site.

A lot of people hardly even try writing those love poems....plagiarism is everywhere.

And you know i have to say, they have to choose better ones to steal....

    Peaces.

I like Chris Walker's poems better. they arent like all the other poems on this site.

I agree with you writer girl. Chris you really go more into what the person feels or is thinking about. his actions, and stuff. Thats what I like, it isn't just this teen highschool love kind of poem.

lol Chris, guess you are right.

But I have also been busy getting my heart broken by the prettiest girl I have ever spoken too, whom I also spent 2 years of my life with.

I'm off to check out your poems for a change now, Chris..

Thank you veryvery much, by the way.

i personally don't think that 99% of the love poems suck... i have read lots of them and i liked majority of the ones i read... maybe it all comes down to the the reader

    Jackie,

At the end of the day it really depends on whether the poet has done a good job of expressing himself or herself so that the reader actually feels the feelings and emotions.

If the reader does not then the poet has failed in his/her communication to the reader.

    Regards,

    Steve

but sometimes the poet feels nothing towards there poem yet the reader can feel something out of it... in my personal opinion i think it is how the reader interprates the poem, there is always two sides to a story, the same way there is probably always two ways to look at a poem... bu thats just my opionion

hey chris, yeah i am waiting for a real poem too, but that one he posted was freakin' hilarious. And really the way he wrote it and why, it all made perfect sense. I can't say i disagree with his parody and why he wrote the poem either. He is kind of correct about the monotony that goes around the love poem section on this site. I stopped reading them except for certain people. I would rather read by author instead of by category: That is the real way to gety good stuff(precisely the reason for favorites). This is the same reason I don't listen to any Jay-z or usher, or nickelback.

why are you people talking about this??!!
alot of poets here dont write to show their experience..they just write to express...they write to get the sadness out of their minds..
Yes! sometimes i feel there are some suck poems but i cant blame them...even if you read my poems some of them are VERY suck..it was just a moment of expressing myself
and about Chris..I should read his poems :)..
but i guess dora is the best here..she has very lovely poems and emotional

Vhris he finally posted a serious poem. It isn't bad, about death, but it is clunky to read in some parts. Anyways, work on the clunkiness sawyer and maybe the flow will get better.

I cant write love poems at all and the people who can are very talented! hehe

  • Cory Mastrandrea

Cause Chris writes stories, short stories, that are to short to be put into stories. SO he turns them into poems. HeHeHe. Just kidding Chris, but that is what many of your poems remind me of. That is how I write, decide if something is best as a short story and poem and then write it as one or the other

I will tell you how, write a poem that is forced to rhyme, really sing-songy, describes highschool romance, and use teh stars and sky to describe every feeling. Then i will think it sucks.

maybe 99% of them suck..but so wat yr not the one whos writeing them ur only reading them..people write poems to tell their feelings and what their going threw..most of the will tell u that they don't give a care if u like it or not..all that matters is the person who wrote it likes the poem and who they send it to if they send..so think next time befor u say something and im saying that not to be rude or snoby..

of course if the writer likes it that is what matters most. However, Brittany and Emma, by posting your poems on an internet site open to discussion to all the public who wish to become members and join, you have opened yourself up to critique by any member of this site. That means whether you like how a person critiques your writing or not. If you don't want teh critique then the poems should stay inside either your head, or the notebooks you wrote them down in.

We write about love because that is the most precious feeling you can have. If you are in love, most 99% of the poetry stops being pathetic and becomes a story of your life.

Writing a good love poem is an art. It isn't just some words and jumbled feeling but an eloquent, elegant, exquisite artful expression of romantic emotion, and not all have yet devolved the skills to do as such nor do some have the patience nor passion for artful expression to do so, but you can't discount those who choose to express their feelings, emotions, even and although that expression might not be that artfully done. I personally consider myself a top-notched romantic poet, by the standards - which I hold for romantic poetry, established by reading those great romantic poets that came before me - such as, William Blake , Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Robert Burns, George Gordon, Lord Byron, John Keats, William Shakespeare, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, William Wordsworth, Sara Teasdale, and such. I like truly romantic poems full of amorous feelings, flowery language, and an exaltation of feeling and an elegant style. But all might not like the same and thusly, what I write may not be some people’s cup of tea.
