It's to each their own like my friend always says but in my opinion which would you rather have, a title without a poem... or fully written poem that just needs a title. I personally make the title after the poem because I sometime start with a basic idea for the poem and then end up writting something completely different...but that is me, you really have to find your own style, even with things as simple as the title before or after. |

With me, sometimes the text of the poem appears first when I get some inspiration. Other times I think about the title or subject first before the text arrives. |

I myself find a title after I have written the poem. But I always write them on Word and then copy them to here, so I don't actually pick out a title until I submit it. But I guess you could choose a title first and still come up with the poem. I don't see why it wouldn't work either way. Just go along with what your title is or what your poem is about. |

I would say the poem , because then after you can find a title that works best with it .... I try and not work my poems around my title .. Each to their own , i guess .. |

I do both. Sometimes I'll just start writing then pick a title when it's finished and other times I'll go through a list of titles I have and pick a title that inspires me to write something. Sometimes I'll be out some where and I'll read a phrase or someone will say something that will become a title. It's fun. I'd say do both. Try...it's fun. |

I make the poem first and then I take a catchy part of the poem and use it for my Title. If you look on some of my poems you will notice some of the titles are part of my poem. |

if you can't find a title to a poem, do what i do in the situation, pick a word or words out of it as the title atleast until you can think up a title you like better.if u come up with a title but no poem, then just study that title really try to feel it and if noone interupts you just by doing that the words should start bubbling up and be4 u know it u'll have a poem!!!!!! but just think about what kinda poem suites the title. |

In my opinon.. The poem would come first, You write what you feel and when your finished you decide what would most likely describe the poem. |

i don't have a set way of doing things, sometimes i think of a title that sums up the way im feeling, then write it in more detail for the actual poem, sometimes i change the title 4 or 5 times before i get the right one, other times i'm happy with the first one i choose, but, more often that not, the poem comes before the title. |

Coming up with a title doesnt nec. mean you'll write a poem abotu THAT title. And usually, to title a poem, you should take a look at your last satnza and whatever the subject is of that stanza..title it that |
