Try to write a lot. The more you write the better you'll become. And try writing out your feelings. |

I have 5 sugesstions. I'm new to this site and I haven't read any of your work, so I don't know if you supposedly "suck" yet. First off, you must have a love of poetry to even write it! Might help you. Secondly, you have to have talent. If you don't, let's put it this way : YOU'RE SCREWED! Third, you have to write a lot. It doesn't matter if it's crappy, it helps build up your writing style. Fourth, you might want to write about things that has happened in your life or what is happening to you. Makes it more personal and emotional, and it attracts people to read it..and like it. Last but not least, try rhyming your words in your poems. Makes it fun for the reader and it has a flow to it. Hope this helps you! |

Thats better Ismail, your first post in here was potentially very insulting if taken the wrong way...which given the context of the question asked, was very easy to do. |

The way i approach Poetry is, it is just a fancy word for someone writing their innermost feelings and emotions on paper, expressed in a flowing way. Very few of my poems ryhme, if you are stuck for language use a thesaurus, it usually works, and if you are looking to use more poetic devices and techniques just look around the web, there are a great many sites taht will give you hints and tips on improving your poems, main thing is, stick at it and things should improve. |
