Help with suicide

The DO'S AND DON'T'S

The do's of suicide prevention:
1. Do ask the three part question:
Ive noticed....( the warning sings you've observed)
I am concerned.... ( because I am your friend)
Have you been thinking about suicide

2. Do ask them if they have a plan. Any response other than a firm no means yes!
3. Do listen... Be calm and understanding.
4. Do show confidence... you are going to get some help.
5. Do use feeling words to help your friend see that you understand how they feel.
6. Do tell the suicidal person how concerned you are and how much you care
7. Do trust your feelings if you believe a person may be suicidal.
8. Do take seriously a suicidal person's threats.
9. Do notify a significant adult immediately of your friend's intenion.
10.Stay with the person until help arrives.

B. The don'ts of suicdie intervention"

1. Don't soung shocked by anthing the person tells you
2. Dont minimize your friends' pain. Statements like "Thats no reason to kill yourself" only show the person you dont understand
3. Do not argue of try to convince the suicidal person of why he or she should not attempt suicide.
4. Do not dare the suicidal person to go ahead and make the attempt.
5. Dont use emotional blackmail or guilt such as "Think how your going to hurt your friends and family"
6. Never keep the suicidal person self-destructive thoughts or actions a secret.
You dont have to share the content of the pain/problem with the responsiable adult you've chosen just that there is suicidal crisis and you need help
7. Do not leave a suicidal person alone.

Any ways I was just thinking and Thought I would write this down for any one that may need help I guess?

Thanks she is a registered user here and I wrote that poem because she wrote a peom about me and it hurt me so I had to say something back to her I guess lol ya I am still reading to =)

ya she broke up with me awhile ago now about 1 1/2 months ago i guess now...

she cheated on me but yet she was the one that broke up with me.... she was messed up in the head... I caught her in bed
