I'd talk to a doctor first, because you don't know how the whole cold turkey thing might go. I have a friend who's bipolar and he ran out of meds one week and he was off his rocker. I've never seen anyone that crazy in my life. He had to stay home from school until they could fill his prescription again.

PS -- At first, when I saw the thread title, I thought you were another suicidal girl. Good you're not.

keep taking it. there may be bad side-effects if you have been diagnosed since its a dangerous condition, please promise me that youll keep taking it until youve spoken to your doctor!!

If I am correct there is a big chance that all people who are bipolar will stop taking their medication thinking that they are fine and don't need it anymore. Which is the biggest mistake they can make. You do need it, and although you may feel yourself again, wasn't it yourself that got you into the mess you are in anyway? Not that its a mess, I was just using that to explain what I meant, sorry if I offended you in any way. Your medication can, however, be changed. So you may find other medication to have the same affect but make you feel more like yourself again. But I would never stop taking your pills before consulting your doctor.

And now that I actually read your entire post, sorry I got lazy before. I'll add that most people don't think they are bipolar, and the symptoms do not occur every single day. Part of the symptoms are also exciteability, and increased energy and a slight high euphoric mood. Being bipolar does not mean that you are always sad, it does not mean that you are always one certain emotion, it is in fact telling you that you are a range of different emotions at odd times, odd days, odd weeks. Just because you stayed one emotion the whole day does not mean that you are cured, it just means that you stayed one emotion the whole day, there is nothing to say that you will not switch the next day, or the next week, for no reason. I've researched bipolar a lot, and my best friend is bipolar so I know what I'm talking about, at least I think I do haha. I'm sorry if what I've said has upset you in any way, it's just the truth as I know it.
