This may seem like a stupid thing compared to what a lot of people write about on this board, but my GCSE results come out next thursday and I'm getting seriously stressed. I can't sleep thinking about them and I feel like bursting into tears. I know I will have done well on some, but thinking about the others just fills me with dread. I need really good grades to do my A levels so that I can get into medical school. I am so nervous. Has anyone got their results next week? How are you all feeling about them?

They're the exams you take in every subject at the end of year 11 when you're 15 or 16.

Hey, yeah I feel the same. I need to get 5 A*-C to get into my 6th form, then on to uni.
I feel even more stressed knowing that if I don't get at least a C on basically everything, I get a U. Which i seriously stressing m out. Good luck for Thursday anyway, you'll have to let me know what you get.

thats the same with me. I wish I'd been put in for foundation on some cause then I could have a chance at getting a D. And its easier to get a C on some of them. Good luck with your results

Yeah. my maths teacher refused to put me on intermediate for my maths paper even though I insisted I wasn't confident enough to do it but still he's made me do higher so if I get a U .. I'm seriously screwed!

Let me say good luck to everyone, I got mine and I passed them all with 5 1's and 1 2 and 1 A. I think thats the equivilent of 6 a's and 1 b in England, good luck to everyone.

Jimmeh: I have spent the last 2 years working really hard to get the best grades possible on my coursework and learning what I need for my exams. Just because exams are clearly not your priority, don't criticise or take the p*** out of other people who do care. I need extremely good grades to get where I want in life, so don't act like they mean nothing. They mean a hell of a lot to me because my future is important.

Yeah, grades suck. I've never been good at taking tests. Even if I study really hard, Math is a language I do not comprehend, and therefore the highest I can get is a C.
and, uh, to you UK people, what does U stand for? is that like an F here, or something lower?

Its ungraded which is worse than and F. You can only get F's on the foundation papers though.
