I know how ya feel, soo many of my friends left to go to a diffi high school. But iz all good cuz u meet soo many new ppl anf get a whole new set of friends. Also if u've been friends wit em for soo long u won't stop talkin to em. U can always talk online and fo over to each others houses. Just because u may be seperated by school doesn't mean ur friendship should end. Friendship stays 4eva girl if ya allow it, just gotta put a lil effort into it! =D

you split up right before highschool? Canadians are weird. nah, just a little different. here in the states we kind of do the same thing. we all might go to the same Elementary School. K-5, or K-6, but then we split up for Middle School 6-8, or 7-8, also I've heard of one go 7-9, then we're back together for highschool. Of course, that's just the average, or what the average used to be. With military families, and people looking for new jobs every 5 years or so, nobody lives in the same town for long anymore.

I'd say I was somewhere in between these extremes. I was transfered alot due to my own mental disturbances...that's also apparently a pretty large minority in this country. Wee, America rocks!

I can't say I had anything like that. I've always been the outsider type.. Never had many friends. But I and many others know what it's like to lose. But remember that not everything's permanent. You have eachother's phone numbers and e-mail addresses, I assume, so it won't be like you are split for eternity, doomed never to see each other's faces again (right?). You can likely still see each other on weekends or during the holidays. No need to worry your little head over it, babe.
I really have to say that the school systems you've mentioned *pointing to the post above mine* are strange. My school grades when like this:
    Elementary School: K - 5
    Middle School: 6 - 8
    High School: 9 - 12
(Then we're off to college for 2+ years, depending on our courses of study and our majors [I start tomorrow morning]).
Keep your head up, girl. Look on the bright side - new school, new people, new opportunity to make new friends and have new experiences. Each new place you go gives you that option. Choose it or lose it, it's your choice. Life is like an RPG game: Each road you choose now will determine which one's are still open later on. *hugs* Don't worry too much about it. Things will be just fine, if you let them.
