I don't think any set of rhyming words are bad. Some are over used but it doesn't make them bad. It depends on the context it is in.

For example: one of my poems

Childhood dreams and long lost memories
Are the reasons for my dead broken LIFE
Father left me with grieving miseries
Completely burried in my mothers STRIFE

    as opposed to

Childhood dreams and long lost memories
I have a dead broken life
Father left me with grieving miseries
    In my mothers strife

Yes, rhymes are not stupid, but sometimes they can be used much more creatively and beautifully. Diction also affects.

i use terrible rhymes....they are so repetitive..........but i can never think of anything that will rhyme with life other than knife, strife, wife, etc, all the words you can only use a certain amount of times before ppl start to get annoyed!

theres no such thing as a "worst rhyme" everybody has their own style.
as for me i cant stand it when the poems dont rhyme and not make sense.
i know that poems dont have to rhyme but alot of them dont even make sense and its hard to follow and understand.

yes, there are bad rhymings in poetry. A bad rhyme is noticed when the poem doesn't make sense and it's grammar is particulary wrong. A good rhyme will make sense in the poem and will make the grammar look correct. If a poem doesn't make sense, it is because of the rhyme, grammar or spelling. If you are trying to acomplish a poem with rhyming, make sure it makes sense and it's well written.

Well, ever since hearing this one teacher say, "If you are feeling mad, bad, sad, glad, and rad all at the same time, never ever try to write a poem about it!" The only time I can stand to see those words rhyme is The Who's Behind Blue Eyes. but The Who are the balls. We are not The Who.

As for my own, I can't read "Hunger Pains" without flinching. I used and rhymed "pain" sooooooo many times. :bang:

the worse rhyme I've ever seen in a poem is:

    I lay on the floor,
    Watching the stars,
    With you by my side,
    Riding the car????

What the heck's that???? Wasn't she on the floor?
It doesn't make sense. Its wrong written.

It's really annoying when people add in lines and words just so that they all rhyme - and it's really obvious! I used to do it all the time but I think I have gotten better, hehe.

wow, that poem is really..... erm..... different from what I always read. I personally dont like the "slang" type of writing for poetry. Poetry should be understandable.

like other people have said..it isnt so much the rhyme..it is the way the rhyme is used, and 4 what reason, and if it even goes with the poem..so yea

Well, there's no such thing as bad rhyming. Only if it's totally off subject, then I can understand. Like...

Last night I had a dream
    Lets go for ice cream

hahaha stuff like that, the kind that has NOTHING to do with the poem, is the only kind of bad rhyming I can think of.
