well it really depends on the type of poem it is. Really long ones just annoy me at times because ur sitting there going OK we get the point end it now n then really short ones r like well that was to short and you never really got the point of it and then u have to deconstrute it and still never get the point while long ones r just 2 long n u dont even want the point of em so i think like they have to be medium long enough to get the point across but short enough so u dont get all bored and annoyed at it |

Both have their uses. Short poems are good for disconnected thought that you want delivered short and sweet. Long poems are for more flowing, eloquent lines that tell a story or carry a certain message. I prefer longer poems (morethan 20 lines) because for me, they tend to have the capacity for more thought and emotion. Other, more skilled, writers could do just the same with a shoter poem. But it is merely my own preferance. |

Shorter poems are harder to make. because its harder to get an idea out in only 5 lines. |

I like both. If the poem is well structured and written it can be long or short. It does not matter to me. It is the craft of the poet that I like to see. |
