I've been called an emo-kid and punk enough times to be able to self-proclaim myself emo atleast. I won't proclaim other titles, though I am anti-conformist, but I'm also anti-anti anything. Anti-pretentiousness is my thing. I liked y'alls first thread. Fun read. Too bad it had to be closed.

I don't understand...is this a place where people who label themselves as 'different', yet have a label, go to talk or whatever?

this labeling makes absolutely no sense to me. If you don't want to conform to society, why make a label for yourself like everyone else has? Why not be different, and say "I hang out with the people who are themselves and don't necessarily care who hangs out with them as long as they aren't going to bash me or act like they're better."

I'm sorry, but it just kind of pisses me off, this whole labeling thing. I chill with all kinds of people. People who skateboard, play guitar, rap, wear all black, wear jerseys, black, white, mexican, people with accents, people who use slang, just as long as they don't act like they can only hang out with certain people. I don't limit myself by saying I only hang out with this 'type' of people. To be honest, it disguists me.

Okay, now that I got that out...no offense to anybody, just letting my mind run freely on the subject. mmkay?
