we can blame ourselves. cause sooner or later we are going to destroy this world all by ourselves.

It's called Karma. Every bad deed man has done to damage the environment has eventually come back onto us. Ice bergs and polar ice caps are malting and more and more natural disasters are being provoked.

um, like I believe in karma and the power of three as much as the rest of y'all, but what does that have to do with a natural disaster? and are y'all comparing this to the Great Flood, with Noah's Ark? is anybody actually suggesting that those people deserved to drown?!? This is a tragedy and is going to be hell to clean up after, but it is more along the "wrong place at the wrong time" train. Nobody can control Nature. Nature makes its own rules.

    Sorry, just, confused.

I know people that are from that area. Many more have family there. Plus Mobile and other parts of South Alabama were flooded too. People's banks were flooded away, so they can't use debit cards to pay for a hotel room. And the hotel staff just gives them the cold shoulder, and the line, "Sorry, it's not our policy..."

Yes I feel for the people in these states .I live in Canada and I wish there was some way to help I just don't know how to start .I know some people don't believe in prayer but my thoughts and prayers go out to these people . And even if you don't believe in prayer it would only take up a few minuts of your time .

"No one EVER suggested that those people deserved to drown at ALL."

Actally, a preacher/televangelist said that New orleans deserved to be destroyed because it was a sinfull town and it must have been God's will, siting that there was a gay/lesbian festival to be help this week.

I think it's completely wrong, though... No one deserved to die... Not like that.

how is a hurricane our fault...it's a natural diasaster...which may be harder to accept than terrorist attacks or something because we MAY have prevented them (terrorsits)...or at least have someone to blame. here we don't. what we do to our environment is horrible...but has nothing to do with natural disasters...
and to original post: yes it's horrible...they're saying that the damage to property etc is more than the tsunami in thailand/sri lanka etc...but less deaths because they had a better reaction plan...wouldn't want to think how many deaths there would be if there wasn't a plan.
    R.I.P all those poor people

I have no money to donate...my family has no money to donate (because we're using it to pay for gas, since we're having this major gas shortage and it costs almost over five dollars now)...kids who have to come to Georgia from the disaster are enrolling at my school and i'm trying to find things like clothes or anything to give...my school's giving out this number that you need to call if you want to volunteer and i wrote it down but i can't find it now...

I feel helpless and stupid, knowing i am in perfect reach to get out and do something. But i can't find that damned number... :(

To help out you can send clothing, blankets and towels that you dont need anymore to the victims! It helps! Canned food is good to! Or, you could have a bake sale to raise money!

My mom and i went to the local mall because the Salvation Army truck was supposed to stop there. We gathered up some old stuff such as clothes that don't fit me anymore or clothes that we don't want and my mom's going to drop it off there on the 8th. She's also going to do some volunteer work to help load up the trucks...

I'm so happy. :) I just want to be able to help. This is too close to me for me to not do anything, so i'm ready for whatever i got to do.

"a little girl told me yesterday, that when the world hates one another, mother nature gets mad....."

I agree with you Bob, that is the most logic thign I have heard in a while too. It's funny how children who have hardly experienced the world make morpe sense than most adults I know, such innocent yet meaningful knowledge.
