Don't break up with your boyfriend just because you think his friend is hot. Try and work things out with your boyfriend, and don't worry about "following the crowd".

you might as well break up with him & save him the heartache. It's pretty easy to see you don't really care about him (since you are thinking about going after his friend) And his "friend" isn't a friend at all if he is saying he likes you.
He'd be better off without BOTH of you.

Something sort of like this happened to me. My boyfriend at the time (who I LOVED) had this "friend" who liked me. It was his "best friend"! He would send me texts and call me every night and I was too stupid to see how much I was hurting my boyfriend because I couldn't see that his "friend" was trying to break us up. Now, my boyfriend's an EX and the guy lost interest in me.. it sucks and I miss my ex like crazy. Too late now, he's moved on.

If you think you're into his friend, by all means, go out with him but if you truly like YOUR guy, don't let him go. Tell his friend to leave you alone. Otherwise, that's what you'll be. Alone.
