..Whats the point of posting up a poem if you always expect to get positive feedback? I read this girls latest poem and I thought it was good but she could fix it in some way and she got mad at me and emailed me saying she was going to give my poems 1.0 because they suck if her poem sucks, and i did recieve a few 1.0's in the beginning, I really don't think that thats the right adittude to have if you are willing to go on a website and post a poem for everyone to read but get mad when they try and give you a few suggestions, I didn't say her poem was bad, I just said it could improve, and if someone said that about mine I wouldn't take it offensive but as a compliment that they actually took the time to read it!

i think people like that have either a REALLY high ego, or a very low self-esteem. this site is to be each others critiques and help each other improve. That means getting "negative" feed back. well, negative isn't the right word,

LOL I remember this one time, i commented on a girl's poem, saying that it was plagiarized, and she later commented on one of my poems, saying this:

    "*FUDGE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!"

*Of course, fudge serves as a euphasism. :P

    HAHAHAHAHAHA, good times. ;)

I totally agree, I mean voting is feedback, its good or bad

  • Eibutsina

It is feedback Angelina it gives the author a numeric rating on average of peoples attitude towards the poem, the real shame is how the voting system is abused which makes that feedback inaccurate. Nonetheless it is clearly feedback.

It is Eirisia, but not on this site...My best poems do not have the highest votes....my worst does

  • Feline Fatigue

you have to base it on opinion. if everyone had the same opinion, then it would make perfect feedback, but since we don't, we don't.

    heh, hope you followed that.:)

Okay well i'm sorry if i took it the wrong way, I have had alot going on and i suppose i'm not in a good mood, so if you were just asking a question, i apoligize.

Indeed, write poetry only if you feel like it, regardless of what others might think of it.

exactly. poetry is like beauty, it's all in the beholder.

I hate it when people rate you 1 just because they don't think you are mature or just very horny. If you don't like explicit poetry, then dont go in that section!

i actually like when people give me feedback thats not all positive. well not like totally mean but like advice and tips to make it better.
i had this chick totally go off on me cuz i write "to many" poems about God.

  • Justin

..too many poems about god? what you write about is your choice not the readers and if their not interested in that subject why read it then? Lol

  • Andrea

yea i know, its not like she had to read all my poems, and not all of them are about God. im proud that im a christian and i write them..whatever i dont care what she said, i know shes wrong
and thank you for commenting on my poem..i'll go do some of yours.

I Think Your Honesty To This Young Lady "Jane Doe" Had All The Right Intentions, Although She Took It The Wrong Way It Isn't Your Fault, I Actually Applaud Your Honesty, As Far As Her Unfair Voting I Would Make It My Duty To Email a Moderator About It, Eventhough Votes Aren't Important Its Still Unfair For Someone To Down Rate a Poem Out Of Anger Instead Of Honesty! (Next Time You Critique a Poem Just Use My Method "Sugar Coat The Bad Stuff") :) xoxo-Nikki-xoxo

I like negative feedback because it helps me become better. If someone told me a poem was really bad and needed work on guess what I'd do...I'd go off and work on it some more! People who only post positive feedback are cool and are encouraging, but negative feed back is helpful to. Just ignore people who yell at you when your trying to help them.

  • ..eliSa*

i think ppl who feel that they need to get feedback are people who are insecure with their work..i lied that just me im increadably insecure with my work, some ppl like to see wat other have to say about their work only because it gives them confidence and some support.. and this so called "negative" feedback is NOT negative, its to help u build on ur writting and if u dont wanna hear those kinds of comments and ur only expectign to get a "OMG UR AMAZING KEEP WRITTING!!" then dont post ur poems biiAA.tchh

Its Super Immature For Her To Get Upset Over The Fact That You Gave An Honest Comment On Her Poem, I Agree With You 101%, Don't Post Your Poetry If You Don't Want The Truth, I'd Rather Someone Tell Me My Poem Sucked! Which One Girl Did On One Of My Poems That Was Top Rated For Awhile, And She Was Right About It Because I Literally Hated That Poem, I Only Put It On Out Of Boredness, And I Thanked Only Her Out Of All The Comments I Got On That Poem, Because She Was The Only One Who Actually Told Me The Truth And Had No Second Thoughts About It...Honesty Is a Virtue, Lets Start Using It xoxo-Nikki-xoxo

What I really hate is when someone makes a statement like "I love it" or "It sucks" and then don't tell you why. When I comment, I always give specific examples of what I like or how I think they could improve. Otherwise, all you're doing is stroking their ego or making them angry.
