Is 17 too young to be in love?

I'm 17 and i've been with my boyfriend for 2 years now and we are so in love. But sometimes i wonder, is 17 too young? We have recently been talking about going to the same university and moving into together and i love him but i'm scared because he's my first boyfriend and last year i nearly broke up with him for someone else but then i realised i was making a mistake and then i found out this year that the guy played me anyways....... i was just wondering if anyone thinks that 17 is too young

Hey, I don't think 17 is too young. I'm 16 years old, nearly 17 and I've been with my boyfriend for nearly 2 years and I love him loads. We were gonna split up cos of college and everything, but we're working it out and right now things are fab. He is my first proper serious boyfriend, the only guy I've actually thought I could end up with, but we're taking everyday as it comes. I wish you luck with your boyfriend :-) try to ignore the thoughts of being scared, take everyday as it comes. It makes the relationship a lot easier. xxx

No not at all. Love can be found at any age. It's not about what age you are. If you have found love and you know it then go for it.

Just be careful because sometimes love can be confused with infatuation, or lust.

I made that mistake when I was turning 17. Not saying it will happen to everyone, but you know...I'm 19 now, with a different man, and I love him more then anything in this world. I've always known though that I wanted to find someone to settle down with young...I just moved to Chicago, and my baby is going to me moving here in Dec/Jan to go to college....he's already been excepted and everything. We know that we want to get married, but not yet. We've been together for a year now, but we both know that this is so real, and we're making it being 300 miles apart, and so we know that we're going to make it all the way. So good luck to you, and anyone else out there. Don't let anyone tell you that you're to young for love. Just BE CAREFUL!!! Like I said....Love is sometimes confused with lust, and/or infatuation, and that is the kind of love that doesn't last, and hurts the most.

If your in love, and you know your really 'in love', then obviously your not too young to be in love & it shouldn't matter to you what other people think. Screw all those people that say love has an age limit. Follow your heart.

Hmm... I think 17 is still at hte age where love may be true, yet it could be an illusion... yet then again, there are so many thirteen year olds preaching their everlasting love for a boy or girl.

Satin, I gotta agree with you there. Love is so easily confused with lust/infatuation. Good luck with your other half, i hope things work out for you both, you sound like you both want the same things which is cool :-)

I agree with satin as well. When you mistake love for lust it really doesn't last. There is a difference between loving someone and being "in love" with someone. Just like satin said be careful but 17 is not to young at all.

I fell in love at about 17 maybe before and 5 years later I am still very much in love - it happens but to all of us :o)

Hey gal, there are a lot of opinions there for you already. I dont think your ever too young to be in love, but like Satin said, Lust/Infatuation is often mistaken for love. I'm 16 and I'm in love but I can't let him know because he has cheated on me like 7 times! I do still love him but we can't be together! We've gone out off and on for a year and now I'm too scared to do it again but I do know that I still love him!

me personally, i believe that 17 isnt too young to Love... I love a girl atm.. we were going out for 10 months. together for about 15 months... then 2 and a half months ago she dumped me... i was and still am heart broken... i've not had a decent nights sleep in nearly 3 months... and cried every night of it...

she says there is a posability of us getting back together in future... but it was only last night that she was talking about goin out clubbing and pullin other guys...

Well me and my ex boyfriend were together for a year and a half and I"m only 15 you are not to young to be in love with him because I still love my ex to this day. Don't listen to what other people say. You will know when its love. nothing else is like it.
