I have to agree, I'm suspicious on that to. If it is her pretending to be 'Kelly' it's a kinda sad way of trying to get attention.

"Well, "kelly", maybe since 'michelle' was 'hospitalized' (okay I'm done with the 's. lol) it will give her a reality check. She isn't invincible, and she needs to eat. It's her own damn fault. None of us told her not to eat."

I double-fudge fourth ^THAT statement. People with anorexia don't deserve my sympathy, personally. THEY DO IT TO THEMSELVES.

anorexia is a mental problem, and can effect anyone anytime. sometimes when people have been bullied for their apperience, or something else like that, it can cause them to have a very low self esteem, and want to be what people think they should be. i know what it is like to feel that way, and i am praying that michelle gets better, and kelly, stay strong through this, its great that you care so much for your friend. good luck, dont worry about what other people think.

i can't believe you're saying it's the person with anorexia's fault...you've obviously never been close to anyone who's had it...
    so heartless

  • †JustAri†

Not heartless. Facts that no one wants to believe because they feel "sorry" for these pathetic people who let people change them for them.

Does anorexia make you starve yourself? No. It's just that thought, but the PERSON starves themself on purpose because they can't take that fat image in the mirror.

Boo hoo. She shoud've gotten help in the first place, before she even ended up in that hospital, supposedly. If she really cared about herself, she wouldn't have been doing this at all. If she really wanted to stop, she would've gotten professional help.

If she even makes it out alive, let's hope she learns her lesson, cos if she doesn't, then she really doesn't deserve any pity.

And don't start this BS about "you obviously haven't been close to someone who blah blah blah"...heard it, dismissed it, don't care for it. Assumptions are just what they are: what someone automatically thinks. I find myself guilty of many of these, but that little line is far too common. Jeez.

But that makes it okay, right? Wow, that i didn't know, just cos it's a "mental illness", it's okay for people to feel sorry for someone who brings it upon themselves when there are clearly other ways to feel "control" as you put it.

i am currently suffering from an eating disorder, and i know exactly how it feels to have that inescapable 'i'm not good enough' feeling going through your mind all the time. things like this can be genetic, my mum suffered when she was told at age 16, that she would never be a famous solo ballerina, because she wasnt the right weight. comments like this can really eat into your self esteem, and sometimes they stay there forever. I think people who say 'anorexia is a load of crap' have every right to an opinion, but shouldnt put sufferers down because they arent as strong mentally.
