Wish List - Janis Please Consider?

We were talking in our club forum and some members came up with some suggestions, it might be a tall order to consider but here are some suggestions for your kind consideration:-

1. Background music for different poetry sections so people can turn on their speakers and read the poems with some background music;

2. Allowing writers to choose from a selection of fonts for their poems;

3. Allowing a choice for colors for the fonts;

4. Allowing a choice of backgrounds and framing for poems;

5. Allowing of centering and shaping by the author instead of all poems starting on the left side column.

If some of these were implemented, it would make this website out of this world!

1. I can't say I think music would be a great idea.

3. MAYBE this can expand the selection of useful tools that authors on this site can use. maybe...

4. I think this might cause image copywrite issues, or content problems. unless you mean plain colored backgrounds.

5. I think formatting is a good idea, although i'm not sure how easy it would be, as it was mentioned a long long time ago and wasn't implemented

I do agree with Steve. Just consider these and see what you could come up with. I think they are a great idea... Thanks.... a few would be better than none...Take care....and I love this website regardless...It's still great it my eyes....Thank you..

I think some of the ideas are great...hopefully if considered they make P&Q a better place.

The above ideas I posted are common in fact to many large poem websites already, just look around. Some even display the IP address details for each post telling you where the computer message was generated from. Nothing advanced at all. As for music, if you don't want it, you don't turn on the speakers, simple as that.

I agree with number 5. I also I agree that we should have a choice to make parts of our poems bold, italic or underlined, yet I do think that if this feature was used, many would make their whole poem bold or underlined. That would get EXTREMELY annoying.

that would drive my eyesight crazy. lol one of the reasons why I love this site is because of its simplicity.

whatever you consider janis, please don't enlarge the font...keep it the same size. people will go crazy around here.

I personally cannot concentrate on any subject properly if there is music playing (unless the music is directly associated with what i am reading). Also, I have found my computer really slows up terribly if there is any other thing working in the background.

I do like the formatting idea.

Everyone says the music would be a terrible addition, but I do not think so. After all, we have speaker which we can turn on and off, as we deem it necessary. Perhaps, if you do listen to your own music, as many of us do, an option to stop P&Q's music may help several of us. But others really do like to listen to appropriate music as they read: it makes them read more fluently. The other suggestions are great. Perhaps, a larger selection of fonts would be much appreciated.

Nada and others, thanks for suggestions and support. I was only merely acting as a messenger but was made very unwelcome as a messenger so I will not deal further with the issue. We all (at least most of us) appreciate that these are all only comments and suggestions and it is really up to the majority to choose what they would like.

Even then, Janis would have the final say - yay or nay.

This is a poem site, why are you worried about making it colorful and in different texts? It`ll still say the same thing, just take longer to load, and some people are colorblind and you`d never be able to read half of them.
