Inspired by music?

Sometimes, while I write, I listen to my favourite music. It helps me achieve a better flow, I don't know. Who else likes to listen to music while writing? Especially classical music?

It depends on what I am writing...sometimes Van Morrisson for love poems, Jimmy Buffett if it is something light, and if it something dark or healing, something from the past, then the blues. Of course, my neighbors sometimes get to listen when I write, or so they tell me, semi-jokingly.

when i started writing poetry it was eminem. He and my eigth grade english teacher deserve all credit for sparking the intrest in me. It didn't matter what kind of poem i was making i could listen to him just just write it out. But when i listen to my Phantom of the Opera Cd's i can't write to save my life. Even though i love my Phantom Cd's they normally only come out in rare ocations because of what it does to my writing.

We have varied interests. I personally love Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, you know the great Classics.

Chopin and Liszt are just fantastic. I love Chopin's preludes, and Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody. But, like the Meister, I also love Bach and Vivaldi, Beethoven and Schubert, Albeniz and de Falla, etc etc.
