I LOVE usuing repetition in my poems, but I feel that sometimes repetition is over-used or that it isn't written very well. Anyone else agree? |

Well there are different points of view, to repeat in all poems is not such a wise thing to do, however there are some poems which have to be written using repetition as it is part of the poetry style/form. |

It really depends. If you like using repitition you should read some great poems that also use repitition. The Bells by Edgar Allen Poe, and I think Little Lamb by William Blake also uses repetition. In general it is good to stay away from, but it is posiible to pull it off real well. |

I agree with HansRik. Fact is, not everybody can use repetition and use it well in poetry. It takes a certain level of skill and craftsmanship, attained over time. It’s not the hardest thing in the world to do, but is very easy to do badly. If repetition, repeating yourself in a poem, doesn’t lend itself to the rhythm and flow of the poem, it shouldn’t be done, used. Am example of how repetition might be used, employed; |

I personally don't like reading poems using repetition, but if it's a good poem, it really doesn't matter. |

I find that with repetition, you either nail it, or fail completely at it. But I love reading poems that get it right. Repetition seems to work best when used in styles that call for it, such as quaterns, rather than just random repeating lines. |
