How many of you think the word love is past around to freely?
ex. This girl I know she just broke up with her bf for a dumb reason but w/e, anyway ,the next day she is dating his best friend . And she is all like "Oh I love you " or " Oh i love him " , when just the dy before she was saying the exact thing about her ex .

i mean like come on give it sometime

ahha sorry that was just bugging me ,alot .

Oh! That annoys me, too! I have never told a boyfriend I love them- because I don't. And I'm not going to use it freely, it's a word that should be passed around if you're completely sure you love him/her.
I've been going out with a guy for 2 months, and I haven't said I love him. He hasn't said it either, we both are mature enough to know that it means more than just lust or 'puppy love'.

I'm sick of teenagers throwing the L word around.

i know exactly what you mean..it makes me sick.. I mean I've told three guys that i loved them and meant it.. but my best friend is constantly datin 4 or 5 guys at once and telling all of them that she love them...love is something special that souldn't be thrown around

I only say "I love you" to my mum, not to my dad or brother, although I love them both unconditionally.
I say "love ya" to some of my close girl friends, but that's it.

It's not the same kind of love we feel toward our friends and families as the love we feel for a bf/gf.

And someone who says she loves one guy one day and a different guy the next day doesn't understand what real love is.

I think it is passed around freely. just a saying nowadays...I don't say 'I love you' very often but when I do, I sincerely mean it.

This is my reaction when someone tells me they love me.

Person: I know you don't believe in love Atomic, but I-love- you.

Me: *crickets chipping in back ground* Okay...

    This is my impression:
In English, the word "love" has lost its deep meaning. In Spanish, you barely use it, even in poetry. You practically never say "Te amo", unless you have been with that person for quite a long time, and you absolutely know that what you feel is love. The same applies for Portuguese. As for French, "Je t'aime" has also lost its emotion, and now simply means "I like you". Well, I hope this provides a reasonable linguistic approach to your query.

"Te amo... I hate you" good Ill Nino song ;-)
But in French they still have "j'adore".

Jillian, I disagree. Teenagers CAN find love, yes, but love is not something you fall out of. Love should triumph over all changes.

I just think teenagers WANT to be in love. But why so? Why is it so damn tempting to love, when it will end up in heartbreak?
