dont you think it would be a good idea if whoever is in charge of this site added more awards for poets to work toward...b/c i think it influences people to write more and better and well i think it would be a good idea...anyone else think so?...l8r, jen

well i was only mentioning it cuz i know that this site isn't about the awards but i think it is neat earning new awards each time...it kinda gives you a boast to write more...and like i said before...i know the awards is not the point to this site but neither would voting and commenting then...i'm just saying...anyways thats my opinion!...l8r, jen

To add on, a measly colored box shouldn't be the boost to write a few good lines...especially when they only count on the computer on a certain website. :P

nah, I dont think that it would be better to get awards... I mean this site is to show off your poetry and let people read it and comment on it. It isnt' about awards. That's just my opinion though ;)

I like to get awards. It makes me feel better about my poems. Escpeccially sense i never was really that good at poerty and doubted myself.

Yeah i'm against the awards system...however, recognition for outstanding poetry is something which can be a powerful motivator.

Not sure how to implement such a system without it just becoming a simple award scheme.

I think the award system is sound as is. Yes they are just coloured boxes, but what do they really do? For me they really mean nothing, and I am not going to waste time trying to get them.

If you think an award helps you to write more, good! If it doesn't, thats fine too. But when they are helping you to write why are you asking for more awards? isnt the gold poets award enough? to be able to write 200 poems. what more of an award do you want? for me, i get a huge kick out of the comments that people write, good or bad. and they help me to write more and better poems.

Soon, there will be random Platinum AWARDS?! LOL. Poets write because they want to, not for awards. Though many are likely to writ more if they are given awards.

lol just by reading this thread i got this idea. what if someone on this site like influenced someone not to write. like if their favorite color was pink and they didn't like the oher two colors of awards they just stop writing or something. i don't know it's just a random thought lol.
