I have this friend... who has been dating someone for about 2 weeks now. They've only known eachother for about 3 months and about 3 days ago, my friend's significant other started to beat my friend. My friend has told the significant other deep dark secrets that almost no one knows about my friend. Well, my friend's significant other is only using my friend for sex and alcohol and has said to my friend that if my friend ends the relationship, my friend's secrets will be out in the public. And my friend's significant other has also told my friend that as soon as my friend is used and no longer useful, then the same results will happen... What should I tell my friend? I already told my friend that my friend should leave the significant other, but my friend is really scared because of the secrets... these are like secrets that are kept hidden forever and my friend thought the significant other was trust worthy.... |

If I understand that correctly (which I think I did), then your friend would be smartest to get up right now and leave that person. If the secrets or going to be told anyways, your friend should just face it now instead of waiting, it might get worse. The fact that this person is beating your friend is another reason to get out. |

Thank you guys... I told my friend what you said, before I even wrote this, but my friend is still really scared. My friend knows what needs to be done, but is afraid of the significant other... I think my friend is gonna get the courage to leave the significant other soon... because my friend is sick of it... Anyone have any advice as to handle the significant other? |

No advice, just be there for her when he lets out her secrets. Be the best friend you can be, and hopefully in time, everything will smooth out. |
