I have come to the conclusion that people really do not know geograpy or history, or a combination of both. I am in allegedly one of the top universities in the world (LSE) and people still want to know how to say "Hi, how are you?" in "Mexican"... In Mexico, I agree, there are over 60 indigenous populations speaking their own language, but the official language is SPANISH.

Anyways, I am not really a chilango, I am from el Estado de Mexico, which is Area Metropolitana, so I might be considered a chilango by blood.

Then it's no wonder you see so many cockeyed words and names in Mexico. Ixtaccihuatl, Xochimilco, Popocatépetl. And I tell you, if someone had named me Popocatépetl, I'd also be mad as hell and breathing fire all the time.
