On these boards, everyone should be able to read what you've written. If someone posts something, but nobody can comprehend what they're trying to say, then why post in the first place? These boards are for everyone, and because of that reason everyone should be able to understand what you've written. Agree?

I agree, but only if you are writing poetry as an art. If you find yourself writing poem to express emotion, then by all means do whatever you want. If you are writing as an art, however, it would be kinder to exercise some rules of grammar.

Look at it this way: If you're going to post something so that everyone can see it, then it is stupid for you to say something like "Oh, i didn't mean for you to read it." These forums are for everyone, and because of that reason everyone should be able to comprehend what you're saying.

And also, I don't see how typing "lyk" is much easier than "like." Seriously, if you're so lazy you don't want to type that ONE little letter, then you've got some serious problems.

If you REALLY NEED to type lYk dIs, then go to the chatroom. I'm sure you'll be able to find friends there. :)

You said that everyone is good at something. That's true. No one is better than anyone. That's also true. The thing is, do you want to show your intelligence? I, for one, like to type correctly so that I don't look like an irresponsible lazy idiotic teenager who hasn't learned anything in her 15 years of life. Typing also shows your maturity level.

So, in short you have the right to type any way you want to. Good grammar/spelling shows that you care to learn new things and you're motivated, and bad grammar/spelling shows that you're a lazy immature little person who doesn't give a crap about if they're stupid.

If you have no problem with that, then fine. Continue.

Creativity doesn't have ANYTHING to do with how you write on a POETRY/WRITING site in the forums..(When will you get that into your head I wonder..) The thing is, this is a place to learn better grammar and better spelling. It is a place to learn how to write, and not just how to write poetry, but also writing in common. I can read "lyk dis" and understand that it means "like this," but yes that means that the person is so lazy they can't write out 2 more letters. Now THAT is lazy. You got to admit that. I am, in no way, perfect with my spelling or grammar. Though I'm good at it, I'm not perfect.

I have NO problem with you or your name. I don't care how you write your name or if you put S instead of 5 or vice versa.

What I'm trying to say is, if you want people to see that you're intelligent, type correctly. If you want people to see that you're lazy, then type LiK diS. But when you're lazy, people will think that you're lazy with your poetry too and nobody will want to read any of it.

They probably liked the way “kool” is spelled and not “cool”. There is no way for you to distinguished if a person is lazy or not because both words “kool” and “cool” have 4 letters... so people who wrote “kool” instead of “cool” are NOT LAZY like you think!! yeah, I agreed that u’re good at grammars, but there’s always someone better.. =) about your pix, I was wondering how u look compare to how u chat.. =) no biggie..

Actually, I'm saying this all for your own good. If you want people to read your poetry (which is why I think you're on this site), then by being able to type correctly gives a good picture of your poetry even before the person has read it. But, if you choose not to type correctly even after all this, then it's your choice. =) Then i'm fine with you...but I was just telling you it would be better if you typed correctly.

And as for my picture, how does how I look have to do with my typing? I don't understand what you're trying to get at. That I'm scary? Not big? What? Please...stop using lame excuses for your post.

it all depends on who writes it. i do it some times but not alot. it usually is when im in a hurry my poem I USED TO BE YOUR FRIEND has some in it but i wrote it down like that and then had my cousin type it so she typed it exactuly the same. i never type LiKe ThIs ThOuGh.

Jessica how you write your name and using proper grammar doesn't mean you are or aren't creative. I use proper grammar ALL the time, does that mean I am NOT creative? No, it doesn't. It means I take pride in myself and my work. If I turned a report in at work with what you call "creativity" I'd get fired. And could you imagine me telling my boss that I was only trying to be creative. HAHAHA He'd put me out on my ass. This is just something I think people should practice, especially within this site since it's all about writing. If you choose to show people your "creativity" you're not going to be taken seriously. You can't turn a poem into a publishing company with all that rubbish. They'd throw it out, no questions asked. If you want people to take you seriously, take your writing seriously. Take pride in what you do.

i agree its ok when you chat with your friend but not in poetry. poetry should be easy for the reader to read not have trouble with it.

ok i have to admitt it really pisses me off when people write like that - especially for poems it's ok you use like just the letter u or r but with all the lyke and dis that just annoys me - i end up reading it like that
so instead the word this when it's written like dis i read it with a d and *shudder* it annoys me.
i think it's ok for msn, or things like that but not this it's like people are trying to be 'cool' - it's just annoying - wake up and smell the flowers guys!

Ok i agree but then disagree.. sometimes its just easier to write ppl or more of a habit.. i'm really bad about not puttin my little ' when i use words like dont or shouldnt or something like that.. i mean where i am from we say words like aint and yall and stuff like that and yes sometimes it comes up in my writting you can help it that some people write like that.. i mean if it sounds good thats all that matters.. not if its spelled wrong if you know what it is.. it shouldnt matter.. but thats just my opinion.. bye bye EJ
