wow, what a downer. Technically if things exist, even for a short time, then it depends on your outlook. If you are willing to recieve and give love and be happy, even if it isn't permenant, then it is a good thing. But if you are only searching for some kind of happiness that will last forever, I don't think that exists, but I don't think that is love either.

well, i agree with most of you. to me, love is giving someone your heart and trusting them enough not to break it. And that goes for the type of love you have for family, friends, and even pets and such. Stop and think about this without the pesimistic ideals. im a pessimist too but i feel like playing the role of a hypocrit now since there are too many pessimistic respnses :-)

i didnt believe in love but from others i am learning for myself that it truly exists. love is a general word actually... i love my friends, i love my parents, i love my sisters but what "true love" is i think we each have to find out for ourselves i think there are no words to describe it and the only people who have that abilty cant find the right words i think you know love when it hits you

In addition to the great answers about bonds, and caring, and being willing to sacrifice--which I totally agree with--I'd like to add that "love" is also a choice. A choice to put someone's happiness and well-being above your own. I'mnot talking about that "in love", butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling... I'm talking about that from-the-depths-of-your heart drive that defines who you are

I never knew what "LOVE" really was until I met my fiance.

To me love is an emotion you feel deep down inside.. It's something unexplainable to those who haven't yet experienced it... When you are in love you would do anythin for that person.. You want to be with that person all the time.. He/she makes you a better person... You have this sense of needing nothing else.. You would die for that person.. You are hurt when you get into a fight and you want nothing more then to make him smile again.

Love is an amazing thing when found in the right person..

There is no definition for love. "love" comes and goes. True love is the one that will stay, you cant define it, youll just know it wen its there.

Love to me is a spell..like I said in my quote about love. It's a unbreakable spell , it's never really love if theres a fall...like getting together then someone chooses to be dis-honest...or somthing.

*sigh*... love, it is something that belongs to you but not in your control... it can bring you joy but often with 10 times more sorrow... you can give your love to someone special, but that special someone may not give his/her love to you...
